Eighty-three degrees today in Orlando, with a light rain in the morning. Yesterday, the temperature was eighty-one degrees. A few clouds in the sky, with no chance of rain and a gentle wind. Unlike last weekend. It was a great day for a Sunday drive with the top down, providing you drive a convertible. I drive a pick-up truck, so having the top down is not an option. I can, however, have the window down on the driver side and let my left arm rest on the door as I sit at the traffic light. Later on, people will look at me wondering why my right arm is a bit more pale than my left.
Orlando does not have that many good radio stations, so most of the time I have a compact disc in the CD player. I have always enjoyed driving on a nice Sunday afternoon with the music playing loud. The compact disc that I have playing may be new, or it may be a CD of an old vinyl record from my high school days. Back then, I would have an eight track tape playing in the car as I had the sun roof open. My CD collection is a soundtrack to my life, past and present.
Everyone has that soundtrack to their life. There is a song they hear that may remind them of someone they know, or an old friend they have not heard from in a long time. That person can remember where they where when they first heard a particular song. It can trigger fond memories, and it can bring back that heartbreak from a time ago.
While I was driving around town yesterday, I was listening to a CD by Ocean Blue. One song was about being alone as all your friends are married and gone. I started to think of all the friends that have since married and gone away. I wonder if I will be alone the rest of my life, or if there is a woman out there that I will meet. Or maybe I have met that woman and she has since left my life.
For now, I will continue to enjoy the Sunday drives listening to my soundtrack instead of dwelling on a question I may not know the answer to. The weather is nice, and the skies are sunny. Great scenery for any soundtrack.

On my first blog, I wrote about the up and down weather we are having in Orlando. One day, it is sunny and the temperature is near 80 degrees for a January day. The following day,a cold front comes in and temperatures drop. A few days later, however, the temperatures are back near 80 degrees. This past weekend, a cold came through the Central Florida area with winds that would even blow down the third little pig's brick house. The wolf did not need to huff and puff that day.
Working outside that day, I saw a lot of sweaters that Aunt Mabel would be proud of. I also seen many people wearing the leather jackets. Whenever a cold front comes through Orlando, I see many people wearing the leather. I myself have a leather jacket that hangs in the closet for most of the year. On the first cold day, I take it out, put it on, and go out the door with the excitement of an 8-year-old going outside after the first snowfall. I think many people wear the leather jackets, pants, and skirts because it makes them feel good about themselves. They look good. After putting the jacket on, you look in the mirror as you comb your hair in the mirror before you go out and say to yourself, "Damn! I look good!"
I know it sounds narcissist, but is that not what life is about. To feel good about one's self. To feel good about yourself. Everyone has a favorite shirt, pants, skirt, coat, or hat they wear to not only look good but to have other people notice how great they look.
Today, the weather in Orlando was sunny with temperatures in the 70s. A cold front is coming through on Wednesday. The leather coat is coming out for a special appearance. And I will gladly wear it over Aunt Mabel's sweater.

Good evening everyone,
This is my first blog. I know, you're probably thinking "big deal". Why am I writing? I always had an interest in writing and art, and I wanted to do something with my computer besides check my e-mails and surf the web. What will I write about? Anything that comes to mind. I am not an expert on a particular subject, but I have my opinions and interests.
Right now I am watching the nightly news. Postage stamps are going up next week. Great! I just bought a booklet of 37 cent stamps. Now I have to buy 2 cent stamps. Oh well.
The weather report says that temperatures are in the mid 40s with a projected low of 35. This is the weather report for Orlando. I can imagine what the tourists are thinking right now as they fly in to Orlando. It may not sound cold to you, but it was 82 degrees on Monday. A drop of over 40 degrees within the week really makes a difference. One day, you're wearing a t-shirt and shorts, and a few days later, you're wearing the sweater that Aunt Mabel sent you. It may be ugly, but hey, it's warm.
Freeze warnings in Central Florida. I am just waiting for the day it snows. Unlikely, but we did have four hurricanes hit the state last year.
I wonder how many tourists packed their suitcases with t-shirts and shorts, expecting warm weather. The outlet malls will be busy as they buy cold weather gear. That ugly sweater form Aunt Mabel sound good about now.
