Last Friday night, I was home watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. I have always enjoyed watching Rudolph, especially when Burl Ives' snowman comes on and sings. During the show, there is a scene of the elves choir at Santa's workshop singing "We are Santa's Elves".
As I was watching that, I remembered in my college days of working as a cook at Friendly's Food and Ice Cream. One of my co-workers would sing a song done to the tune of "We Are Santa's Elves". It goes something like this:
We are Friendly's slaves
Working to our graves
We work all day for little pay
Because we are Friendly's slaves
The manager heard him singing it and about had a fit.
I, on the other hand, was laughing my ass off.
Which is probably why I started laughing again when the elves started singing.
Why is it there are some things that you just don't forget, and they are as funny to you now just as it was then?
