A cold front came through central Florida yesterday. As I write this, the current temperature is 49. The afternoon calls for clear conditions and a high of 57.
In some areas, that would be considered a warm day.

Anyway, many people here have been wishing for cooler temperatures, and now it is here. And maybe now, some folks like myself will be able to get into the holiday spirit.
Many people here are transplants coming from other states. I moved to Florida in 1981, and have met several people from New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, and a few other states. I have not met that many people who are actually born and raised in Florida. At least people my age. Most are from somewhere else.
Many of the people I have met complain about the weather during Christmas. It's too warm. There's no snow.
"Well then, why did you move to Florida?"
"To get out of the cold weather."
I moved down to Florida with my parents. At the time, I was still going to college, and both my parents were retired. There was no one else in the family living in the state, so I remained after college in case something should happen to my parents.
To this day, I do not regret the move. I am glad that I was here for my parents, even though I myself complain when it gets too hot. I never had a problem with the cold weather and the snow. But I live here. So I deal with the weather.
It is strange, however, when the Christmas season comes around, and temperatures are in the 80s. I guess when you grow up around the northern/midwestern states, you automatically expect temperatures to start dropping in October.
Then when the temperatures finally drop around the holiday, people then experience that Christmas season feeling. Then after the euphoria sets in, people then realize:
"How many f------ days of Christmas shopping left?"
Anyway, the cold weather feels great. After dinner, I'll put the leather jacket on, and I will do some Christmas shopping.
And by the way, there are eight days of Christmas shopping left.
