 Cool Temperatures At Last!

Finally!

After several months of high humidity and temperatures in the 90s-100s, we have cooler weather. As of the first day of October, the temperature was in the low 90s with high humidity. The last few days, however, have had temperatures in the upper 80s and low humidity. And a nice breeze has been passing through. Temperatures at night have been in the upper 60s.

Anyone in the northeast or the midwest who is currently reading this may think that I have gone crazy about a "cold front". Fact of the matter is, when you have temperatures in the 90s from the month of April until now, any relief is welcome. And it is nice to be able to go outside and walk from your house to your car without breaking a sweat. Unlike summer time, when you get out of your car and walk up to the grocery store and it is so hot and humid that you break a sweat by the time you get to the entrance.

I have looked at a few blogs, such as the River Rat or Imagine It that features autumn's colors. And I can honestly say that I miss those days when I grew up in the midwest.

I walk around the lake here at work, and I notice the leaves on the cypress trees are starting to get a brown tinge. Soon, they will turn to a copper color and fall off. That will mean cooler temperatures in November and December.

And when the temperatures drop down into the 50s at night, the leather jacket comes out of storage.

I can smell the leather as I type. Cool temperatures at last.

Finally!

 David Gilmour

This is one of my favorite musical artists, David Gilmour. As most of you know, he is the guitarist and lead vocalist for Pink Floyd. Over the summer, he released a new solo album entitled "On An Island".

The album has had mixed reviews, but I love it. If you go to his website, www.davidgilmour.com, you can download the video for his song "Smile". It is just a wonderful song that plays through my head during the day.

Hope you enjoy it!

 So I Forgot

On my blog the other day, I mentioned a few songs that a few bloggers had on their post. These songs I had mentioned are songs that I like. The other day, busmanterry posted the lyrics to the song "Who Are You" by the Who. As a comment on my blog, he pointed out that I forgot him. So busman, I am sorry I forgot to mention you. When I was writing my blog, I was making the comment about how nice it is for someone to share a favorite song by providing the audio on their post.

I hope you forgive me, and I will forgive you for not posting the lyrics to "Happy Jack".

So if there is anyone else who posted a favorite song on their blog and they think I left them out, I guess I forgot.

Either that, or I haven't been to your blog yet.

 Taking A Break

When I take a break at work, like I am doing now, I like to get on the computer and read a few blogs from Blogstream. Over the last few days, I have read a few blogs which made me think about a few things.

I have only seen the Rocky Mountains once about ten years ago. Looking at the photos on Prank's blog, I would like to get back there and see it again. I would also like to see the Cascade Mountains of the great Northwest again.

I was reading Needs More Cowbell, and Chandabear wrote about seeing Tom Waits in concert. I am so jealous! As for Tom Waits, I think his album "Small Change" is an album that everyone should have in their collection. Many years ago, Tom Waits did a concert for the PBS program "Austin City Limits". If you ever get a chance to watch it, do so.

Speaking of music, someone had a tune from The Doors on their blog. Thank you! A great way to start the day! MaryElizabeth had the song "Crash" from Dave Matthews Band on her blog for Needs More Cowbell. Thanks again! I love that song, as well as the song "Iris" from the Goo Goo Dolls. AlzNurse had that on her blog.

Now can someone please tell me how you can put a song or video on my blog. I would really appreciate it. And don't worry, it's not like I will be putting porn videos on there. Although I know that there are a few of you that would love it.

Someone made a comment on their blog that they know more about some bloggers than they know about themselves. Does anyone care to explain that?

Last but not least, I am missing the jokes on Life Is Not One Big Joke. Are you?

Time's up! Have to go back to work. Have a great day!

 What Little Jimmy Saw

One day Little Jimmy came running home from school and ran into the kitchen as his mother was going through her recipe books, trying to plan a menu for a party that she was catering.

"Mom, you won't believe what I saw on the way home!" Jimmy said with a sense of urgency.

"And what did you see?", asked his mother.

"Well, I was walking home from school, and I walked past the park.", Jimmy said. As I was walking past the park, I saw Dad drive into the parking lot with his secretary sitting in the passenger seat. After he parked the car, I saw Dad kiss his secretary. After that, she bent over and.........."

Hearing that, Jimmy's mother put her hand over his mouth, not wanting to hear any more. She was so angry, she could just kill Jimmy's father.

After a moment, Jimmy's mother had an idea.

"Jimmy," she said. "Do not say anything about this until you are told. Do you understand?"

"Yes Mom."

Later that evening, Jimmy's father came home and found his favorite dinner set on the table. The family had a wonderful dinner while the whole time Jimmy's mother was wanting to kill him. She knew that he had been fooling around with his secretary.

After a wonderful dessert, Jimmy's mother asked Little Jimmy how his day went.

"And won't you be a dear and tell your father what you saw after school.", she told him.

"Well, on my way home from school, I was walking by the park. I saw you drive up in your car with your secretary and park the car. The two of you started kissing, and the next thing you know, I saw your secretary do to you what Mom was doing to Uncle Fred while you were out of town on business!"
