 Memorial Day Weekend
Back to Full Blog

Hey Folks!

It is the Memorial Day weekend!

I took today off from work, so I am at home this evening taking it easy. Since I did not go to work today, I took the time to get around to doing a few things that I needed to do. Right now I am at home watching the Tampa Bay Rays-Baltimore Orioles game. Any baseball fans besides me and Heather out there?

Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone who responded to my last post. I will start looking for apartments soon, depending on whether I will be able to rent month-to-month or sign a year lease. I just decided that even though I am close to work, shopping, and entertainment, I am tired of dealing with the management. And though I have a few neighbors that I like, I am really tired of some of the residents that have moved in. And I am tired of things breaking down all the time. Especially the air conditioning.

Aside from the situation with the apartment, everything else is fine. Work has been busy, but things seem to be going by well. My truck is running fine, and my health is fine. And I can still get a hard on, so no need for Viagra.

At least I know that still is in working order. I have to work Saturday and Sunday at the theme park, but I am off Monday. It finally rained today in Orlando. Goodness knows we need it. It has been really dry here. Rain is predicted for tomorrow as well, and sunny conditions are called for Sunday and Monday. If the weather is great on Monday, I will most likely wash and wax the truck. What do you plan on doing for Memorial Day? Are you going to a parade to honor the war veterans? Are you planning on having a cookout?

If you get a chance to go to the cinema multiplex this weekend, check out "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". I went to see it this afternoon, and I enjoyed it.

While I was at the theatre, there was a preview for a movie called "Australia" with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, which is set during World War Two. It is scheduled to come out Christmas, 2008. I think it may be worth checking out. There was also a preview for "The Dark Knight". I'm going!

Well, I am going to get back to the ball game. It is the bottom of the fifth inning, and still no score. Again, thanks for the responses to my last post. Although I did not get to thank everyone individually, your comments were appreciated.

Take it easy, have a great Memorial Day weekend, and careful with those buns and weenies!

Go for the new place with maximum gusto, Big Al. I read this and your lasr post and Man, the situation really sucks with the new tenants who sound like nothing but trouble. You are close to work and amenities and the place itself seems to work, but the manager is setting up to bring big problems for everyone. You have rights as a renter as many pointed out but there's your time and aggravation and personal safety. Maybe a fresh start in a new place will stimulate other positive stuff, maybe a little extra room to stretch out. I got in a town house and I love it, xeriscaped yard so I don't mow anything. Close to work and shopping and I've made some new friends and am close to my long time friends too. A win-win. Good luck and may the search be quick.

May the Rays win too and I'll see if I can get your next couple 'o Guinness put onto my tab.

Wishing you Happy Memorial Day! I had a little accident last week and ended up tearing the ligaments in my ankle. *Tears* I am in so much pain and the jungle is no place to be when your injured. Emergency said it was a Major League sprain and would have been much better if I had broke it. I've been just trying to stay asleep as much as possible thank God for vicoden. Not going to find a Orthro open until next week.
Just wanted you to know I haven't forgot you.....love ya.....be back as soon as I can.

Prank,

Thanks for the advice. Over the years, I have thought of moving into a new place, only to put it off. After recent events, I will most likely start looking around after the holiday. I also want to contact an attorney about my rights and see what I can do.

I hope you are having a great Memorial Day weekend, and I will toast a beer to you on this holiday. It's called Sea Dog Blueberry Wheat Ale, and it is brewed in Maine. Great stuff!

Misty,

OUCH! I am sorry to hear about your accident. Some of those sprains can be really bad. Since you mentioned Vicodin, check out "Opus" from yesterday's Sunday paper (May 25). I am a big fan of the "Bloom County" comic strip back in the 80s, and yesterday's comic strip deals with a subject you can relate to. Maybe you will be able to find a little humor in it.

I hope you can enjoy the holiday, and I hope you feel better soon. As for me, I am going to spend some time washing and waxing the truck. Then try to figure out what to do for dinner.

Have a great Memorial Day! And get better soon. And don't bother getting up. I'll bring a cup of coffee over to ya'!

Bella,

All joking aside, my health is fine. Which is great to have. Especially having to deal with the apartment situation. I hope you are having a great Memorial Day, and I'll remember to wrap that weenie.

WP,

I hope you had a great visit with your brother, and I hope that you and your husband are having a great Memorial Day.

I just finished washing the truck, and I am currently taking a break and having a bite to eat. Afterwards, I am going to wax the truck. Then I am going to get the biggest steak I can find and cook up a few ears of sweet corn to go with that.

Have a good one!

Indeed health is the most important thing one can have! next comes having a decent place to live! I wish you the best of luck on that one. Have you come across anything over the weekend?
