As Marvin Gaye asked, "What's going on?"
If you are like me or anyone else, the answer will most likely be how busy the summer has been.
That is the answer I have for you. I am currently on lunch break while the summer camp is in session. And as I am writing this, one of the counselors are yelling at one of the children who was caught causing trouble.

I have not had much of a chance to sit down at the computer lab during my lunchbreak. And when I get home, I have something to do. And it seems like I post a blog every ten days, instead of every day. Cleaning up after 100 children on a daily basis can wear you out. Today, most of the children are on a field trip to Blizzard Beach. That is a water park operated by Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts.
Unfortunately, there are always those children that cannot attend the field trips because their parents cannot afford it. Especially during these tough economic times.
Oh. I'm sorry. That's just my imagination. Why, it's only a "mental recession" we are in, according to one Republican politician.
If it is mental, then why is it that everyone I talk to is having a problem with money?

I am not imagining $4.00 for a gallon of gas. I am not imagining the higher price of groceries. If I am imagining it, then so is everyone else I talk to.
Where do these assholes come from? Assholeland?

And if anyone knows where that place is, remind me not to vacation there.

Anyway, someone asked me recently if I have moved yet. Some time ago, I had wrote about having problems with a neighbor at the apartment. Since then, that neighbor is gone, and I am still at the same place. But like I have said, this summer has been busy. So as for a apartment search, I will start looking soon. I did not sign a lease, so I will be paying on a month-to-month basis.
As for my health, it has been going well. Since January, I have lost 24 pounds. And I am able to wear some clothes I have not been able to wear in awhile. When I was at the grocery store, I was walking past the freezer with the frozen turkey and other fowl. And I am looking at this turkey that weighs over twenty pounds. As I look at the weight of the bird, I am thinking of the weight that I lost.
Twenty-four pound bird? Shit! That is enough to feed a family of....

So I am glad to say that as for that twenty-four pound turkey, it's better you than me!

Not much else is going on. I have been following baseball this summer, and I have been enjoying it more this year since the Tampa Bay Rays are playing well. They do have a seven game losing streak, though.

And I got to watch my Cleveland Indians play over the weekend. They were the team that handed the Rays their current streak. So it is bittersweet for me. As much as I love the Rays, I was born a Cleveland Indians fan. And that also goes for the Cleveland Browns, who start training camp a week from today.
You can take the boy out of Cleveland, but...
I'll always be a Browns and Indians fan. And if some dumb ass puts a Pittsburgh Steelers pennant in my casket, I'm coming back and haunting their sorry ass!
Anyway, things are going fine. I have to get some dental work done, so we're talking about some $$$$$$$$$$$$.....
But other than that, things are good. I am still employed. I have a roof over my head, food on the table, my family, and my health. So I guess I can say things are going good. And that is not my imagination.
Back to work. Let's see what mess the children made now.
Have a great day!
I got your CC the other day, but I have not had a chance to respond until now. I have Friday off, so if I have time, I may stop and look at a few apartments.
The City of Orlando is looking to cut $30 million off the budget for next year. There is also talk that there may be a freeze on wage increases for next year. That means no raise, but hopefully, that means we will still have a job to go to.
So, depending on what happens the next few months will determine what I will do with my living arrangements.
Thanks for stopping by, and I am glad you enjoyed the post. I'll stop in at your neck of the woods sometime soon.
What gets me is how these politicians cannot go away. They continue to feed at the trough, and even if they do a bad job, they still get re-elected somehow.
Congratulations on losing 24 pounds. If food prices continue rising at the current pace, you might have a lot more Americans losing 24 pounds or more.
I am hearing people talk about having problems making ends meet. Yesterday, a friend of mine told me about her sister being laid off. Unemployment is up, prices for gas, food, and utilities are up, and some politician says that we are "a bunch of whiners" and that we are in a "mental recession"?
I want five minutes alone with this asshole!
Then he can tell his friends about his "imaginary ass kicking".
Thanks for the congratulations, but I am really dying for a donut right now.
Seriously though, there are some things that I have cut down on, such as breads, pasta, and pastry. But looking at the prices of items such as red meat may have me cutting that out of my diet as well.
Thank goodness I like fruits and vegetables.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. And I hope that you are having a great Saturday evening!
Today has been hot!
And that's just the weather!
I just finished having pizza, and I will most likely stay in and watch television. I may step out and have a cigar, but it is 84 degrees outside. At 10:50 p.m.
I hope you are having a great, albeit cool evening. And thanks for the birthday wishes.
